And does everyone think this was written by a robot?

This is one of many questions I lose sleep over when I think too hard about AI, the state of the country/world, and where this whole enchilada is headed. Now I have to wonder if the 3 people that read this blog know there’s a real gal behind the curtain, furiously typing away whatever finance-adjacent thoughts come to her mind?
Writing doesn’t come easy for me. For one, there’s making the time to do it. I’m not great at that. (I thought I’d post 2 times a week on this site back when I purchased the domain. I currently average once per month.)
But then writing itself is an art. And while I don’t think I’m terrible – I can string words together – I don’t think I’m particularly great at it either. I really do just get by.
So why do I do it, I you may ask? Well transparently, I have big hopes for what this website will one day become. Blogging feels like an important first step to eventually getting there…even if I end up trashing all the posts once this thing goes bigtime.
But also, I don’t care how advanced AI copy gets. Writing is just one of those fundamental skills that feels essential to practice, and that I like to practice. You can only get better at writing by writing. So for this reason, I write. Even if no one reads it. Even if AI is set to flood the interwebs with artificially-generated, typo-free, eloquent (if not out of context) written word.
So if you’re a writer too – or a coder, online researcher, or literally ANYONE who cares about improving a craft that’s in danger of becoming obsolete – then today’s tip is to say f— it and keep learning. Push out that blog post for those 3 readers. (Talking to myself here.) Keep learning how to write proper code: the brain benefits alone might help you live longer. Continue to break the internet with your research prowess: don’t let chatGPT give you all the answers. (And once you uncover the secrets to its downfall/the salvation of humanity, keep that close to the chest. Just kidding. Sort of. )
Okay, gang. Not the most coherent post you’ll find on this site. But like I said, I’m not great at writing. I just enjoy practicing anyway.
